William J. Baker dated Aug. 27, 1902

W. J. Baker of Gladstone is a victim. Wm. J. Baker, who resides on a farm just north of Gladstone was struck and killed by a train just west of Gladstone station some time Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Mr.. Baker was last seen in Gladstone Monday night about 10 o'clock by John Tubbs. About seven o'clock tuesday morning was discovered by John Fryer. One side of the head was smashed and both legs broken.

County Coroner Emerson was called from Carman and held an inquest, Tuesday morning. A verdict was returned that Baker was accidently killed by a train.
