Died Tuesday afternoon-succumbed to la grippe-obit dated Feb. 24, 1897

married Doris Detjens May 16, 1934 at Galena. They had lived in Oquawka area since 1940.

The funeral will be held Thursday, no mention made of place of burial

survived by Children Adam Goempler, Jr. of Oquawka, Mrs. Jacob Geyer of Monmouth, Mrs. Geo. Radmacher of Monmouth, Mrs. Jos. Wiegand of Oquawka, and Misses Christine, Pauline and CArrie Goempler at home. His wife preceeded him in death by about a year.
