born April 18, 1831 in Philrpstahl, Hassen, Germany
Died from Brights disease at home in Oquawka Friday morning, Sept. 7, aged 63 years. Obit dated Sept. 14, 1894. Married in '52 to Christine Goempler a short time before coming to America. To them were born ten children, seven of whom, with the mother are now living.
Burial in Oquawka Cemetery. Survived by wife Christine, his seven surviving children, three brothers in California, one
brother and his aged father in Germany..
