John Manus was born May 16, 1866, and died Thursday, Sept. 12, 1899, aged 33 years and five months. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Manus of this city. The deceased was a victim of consumption.

He leaves to mourn a wife and three children. The funeral was held Saturday, Rev. Moots of the M. E. Church officiated.

The wife and parents of the deceased desire to express their thanks to the many kind friends in Oquawka who assisted them in their affliction.
