born in Louisville, Kentucky, March 20, 1821

Died at the home of his son Benjamin Friday Aug. 8th 1902

married four times. Of the five children by his first wife only one survives, Rev. T. C. Rozell of the M. E. Church South, of Bynum Alabama. Of the nine children born of the second marraige, five survive, Mrs. Harriet Snodgrass of Bald Bluff, Ill., Benjamin and William of Oquawka. Besides the six children he leaves thirty-four grand-children, and four great grandchildren.
